In the Know. . .

Golden Jubilee Weekend attendees were treated to “Remember When” historical displays, courtesy of Regina historians, Ken Donnelly ’59 and Ron Milder ’60.  Donnelly laboriously recreated, through 47 information and picture-laden poster boards, a timeline of Catholic school education in Iowa City, beginning in 1860 through “the Regina years” of 1958-2008.  A huge thanks to alums who provided memorabilia for the display.

Flowchart: Manual Input:

For those alumni who couldn’t make it home for the Golden Jubilee Weekend, don’t worry…we want to bring the 50th anniversary party to you!   Our first “road trip” was November 12, 2008 when the Catholic Community Foundation hosted a Regina “Takin’ It On the Road” 50th anniversary reception at Dowling Catholic High School for greater Des Moines alums (139+ of them) and their significant others.

Plans call for a similar event in the Chicago area in early 2009.

If you are interested in a 50th anniversary reception in your area, please contact April Rouner at

ccf@mchsi.com or (319) 354-5866.

50th Anniversary Banners

Banners, celebrating Regina’s 50th anniversary, are currently displayed on light poles throughout Iowa City during the months of February and April 2009.

Banners were purchased by the Tim Brandt and Alice Lincoln memorials.

Celebrate the Month of Mary

Join us for an all-school Rosary and reception, with former teachers from the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mother (BVM) order as guests.  The Rosary and reception will be held during the month of May with the exact date to be determined.

Help Bury Time Capsule

How will others remember 2008 Regina in another 50 years?  Join students on the last day of school 2009 (currently June 1st) as they bury the treasures of today, for seekers in 2058.
